Fancy Specs

Recently I invested in a lovely pair of vintage 1950s glasses. They came with a woman's pair of the traditional cat eye glasses and a nifty retro pair for men. Each also included a wonderful case, vintage as well. When receiving them in the mail the pair I wanted to wear were sadly bifocals, way to strong for me. After just ten minutes of trying them on I had a horrible head ache.
I finally took them in today to get the lenses exchanged. I was so nervous that they would break but thankfully it only took an hour and they were as good as new. If you are interested in vintage eye wear and have been wary about purchasing, my advice....DO IT! It is worth it, I promise. However, a little warning, there is a possibility that the frames may break when changing lenses in vintage frames.
I recommend investing in frames that are sturdy and made of a material such as aluminum or metal rather than plastic, which could break easily! I hope this helps, below I will list a few wonderful glasses listed on the fabulous site Etsy, where I found mine.
